Hi!
Last week we talked about the importance of dreaming. Remember that dreaming is a powerful first step in creating what you want in life. Your dreams are your roadmap to your fulfillment.
Dreaming is a vital first step in creating the life you desire. Dreaming is a crucial component in manifesting anything you want.
But, dreaming alone won’t make it happen.
Over the next few weeks I am going to show you how to super-charge your dreams and use them to help you make more money, create deeper relationships, love your job and more.
But, you have to be willing to take some action.
THE MIND IS A MUSCLE
Your mind is like a muscle. In order to maximize the creative power of your mind, you have to strengthen and condition it. It doesn’t feel natural for many of us to dream, or to dream big! It takes persistence and practice to restore your natural ability to dream.
You DO know how to dream. You DO have creativity and imagination. You just might have forgotten how to use these gifts.
Spend some time this week hanging out with kids. Listen to them talk and watch them play. Kids are natural dreamers. When they “pretend” to be Superman, they really think they are Superman.
And cheese doodles really are Superfood. And peas are Kryptonite.
We all have the capacity to be Superman. We just have to remember the power of dreaming.
THE RIGHT HEMISPHERE
Dreaming is a function of the right hemisphere of the brain. The right hemisphere is associated with conceptual thinking, emotions, creativity and intuition.
We are deeply conditioned in our society to rely heavily on the left hemisphere of the brain. The left hemisphere is associated with logic and processes information in a linear sequential manner.
We are traditionally taught in a left-brain oriented way. Information is presented in a linear, auditory format. Over time, most of us learn to rely heavily on our left hemisphere.
Both hemispheres of the brain are important. We need linear sequential thoughts as well as conceptual, dreamy thinking. Learning (or should I say re-learning) how to draw on both hemispheres of the brain can dramatically increase your power to manifest anything.
BOTH HEMISPHERES ARE IMPORTANT!
Using both hemispheres allows you to dream a dream. And then create the logical steps to fulfill the dream. Using both hemispheres helps you empower your dreams.
I find that most of my clients have forgotten how to use the right side of their brain. We are good at coming up with HOW things can get done but when we don’t access the right hemisphere, we struggle with knowing what it is we are doing.
This week I am going to help you supercharge your dreams by helping your remember how to use the right side of your brain.
Are you ready?
WAKING UP THE RIGHT HEMISPHERE
You will need about 20 minutes of uninterrupted time for this exercise. Quiet music and a visually pleasing environment will also help. You will also need a nice pen, some pastel crayons or other thick, fat crayons and a few sheets of paper.
Get into a comfortable position, put on your music and close your eyes. With your eyes closed, I want you remember the most fun time you ever had in your whole life. Give yourself about 5 minutes (or more…) to really remember your experience. What were you doing? How old were you? What were you wearing? Who were you with? What did it feel like? Where in your body did you feel your pleasure? Really get into the experience of remembering the joy.
When you can really feel this experience, pick a few colors from your crayons and just draw your joyful feeling on paper. Don’t worry if you think you can’t draw. Don’t worry about details. Just draw the colors and the shapes of your joy. Put your emotional energy into color on your paper.
When you feel satisfied with your drawing, get back into a comfortable position and close your eyes again. This time I want you to imagine your big dreams that you dreamed about last week. Dream about all the things you desire for your life, your dream job, your dream relationship, your dream house, your dream vacation, your dream adventure…just let your imagination go wild….
As you are dreaming your dream, I want you to remember that feeling of being joyful. As you are dreaming your dream, add emotional energy to your vision. How are you going to feel when that dream comes true? How is it going to feel when you move into your dream house? Marry your soul-mate? Visit all the places you have imagined?
If you are having trouble adding the emotional energy, just go back to your picture and the colors that you used. Imagine pouring those joyful colors into your dream. Go back to your joyful memory and keep blending the images until you can really feel the emotional bliss and excitement and associate those feelings with your dream.
When you really feel the emotional excitement and joy associated with your dream, take your right hand and place it on your heart. Just hold your hand there and feel the joy.
When you are ready, you can bring your awareness back to the room. You have now deeply anchored your dream into your body. Anytime you want to reconnect with your dream, all you have to do is place your hand over your heart and you will be able to immediately access that feeling of joy and the memory of your dream.
Do this a couple of times a day. You don’t have to spend a lot of time on this, just put your hand on your heart for a minute or two until you can really rev up the feeling level inside of yourself.
Keep practicing!
Stay tuned! Next week we’ll make your dreams even BIGGER!
Love,
Karen
