Why Be Prosperous?

Are you struggling to get rich?

Does it sometimes seem like getting wealthy is a lot of work?

Today I would like to share with you why it is not only beneficial for you to get rich, but why it is your responsibility to be wealthy and prosperous. The world depends on you to develop your prosperity consciousness.

When I was a small child, I lived in Beirut, Lebanon. I had a glorious lifestyle by Western standards. My family lived in a large, luxurious apartment. We had a beach home on the Mediterranean and a maid.

In the middle of the luxury, war surrounded us. It was normal and common to drive past men wearing cloths covering their faces sitting behind small enclaves built with sandbags, resting their large machine guns, waiting…defending their neighborhoods.

Every morning I took a short cut through a Palestinian refugee camp to get to my elementary school. These camps overflowed with displaced elderly people and with women and children. Most of the refugees owned nothing more than the clothes on their backs and a few pots and utensils.

I made casual friends with an elderly gentleman in the camp. He always wore blue and white striped pajamas, day and night, and greeted me with an incredible brilliant smile. He looked dirty since there was not much water in the camp with which to wash. Sometimes he shivered in the cold morning air.

But he always said hello to me and smiled as if he was greeting me from the front porch of his mansion. The refugee camp stood in stark contrast to my marble-tiled luxury apartment. The gap between my lifestyle and the lifestyle of the refugees appeared sharp and painful to me.

As a young child, I felt powerless in my desire to make sure these people stayed safe. I could bring food and toys to the camp but it made little impact. There was seemingly nothing that I could do to change the circumstances of these beautiful, displaced people, nor could do anything to stop the war that caused them to be displaced.

At nine years of age, I vowed that I would dedicate my life to figuring out how to close the gap between the haves and have-nots. I swore that my life would be about peace and prosperity for everyone on the planet and that all of God’s children would have enough food and clothing and shelter.

As a young adult I studied journalism. I thought that if I could write about the world and expose the truth then people would rally together to change the world.
It didn’t take me long to figure out that that wasn’t going to work.

Then I studied nursing and became a Nurse midwife’s assistant, delivering babies for the poorest families in the immigrant-filled hospitals of inner city Houston. I thought that giving families a fresh, healthy start in life would make a powerful difference in their lives.

It did, but it wasn’t enough.

Then I spent years studying prosperity and consciousness. During those years I had my own personal prosperity challenges. At one point I was over $80,000 dollars in debt, on the verge of bankruptcy and struggling with a troubled marriage.

I had four children and I didn’t know what I was going to do.

I felt that I had betrayed my mission. How was I going to change the world when I couldn’t even help myself? How was I going to raise children who could make a difference on the planet when I couldn’t offer them the resources they needed to expand their minds?

One morning I woke up and looked at my life with horror. I truly did not want to live another day. I was exhausted, stressed out and scared. In the midst of my despair, my four amazing children ran into my room and jumped on my bed with pure delight and joyful abandon.

In that single moment, I knew that I couldn’t quit. I knew that I had to keep going. I wanted to create a world for my children that was prosperous and abundant, not just for them, but for everyone.

I began to study everything I could get my hands on about prosperity and making money. I took workshops. I said about a million affirmations. I visualized. I wrote. I went on a seven-year journey determined to understand and demonstrate exactly how to create everything I wanted in my life and then be able to turn around and share it with others.

I didn’t (and still don’t) want anyone go through what I experienced in the first third of my life. Despite my apparent difficulties, however, I knew that an important part of my mission was to demonstrate and then teach prosperity.

After years of studying, I learned that there were three common factors in all the prosperity teachings I investigated. Most programs focused on one factor. Some prosperity programs actually put two of the factors together. But, it wasn’t until I put all three of these key factors together that I began to deeply demonstrate my own abundance in a powerful and life-changing way.

Within a few months, I went from living with a friend to owning my own house. I got a book contract and wrote an additional book on the side. My income quadrupled and I was able to work at home and be fully present with my kids the way I always wanted to be.

My life is joyful and truly prosperous.

And now, from a place of personal power, I know that I can start my life’s mission in earnest – to help others feel prosperous and empowered as well.

Let’s face it. If you don’t have money and you feel miserable, it is challenging to do good work on the planet. How much more influence and power would you have if you were joyful and rich? Truth be told, most philanthropic acts are done by people who have access to resources.

When you are rich it is no big deal to write out a large check to an organization of your choice…or even start your own charitable organization.

When you are rich you have time to create and time to dedicate to taking care of the planet. But, you don’t have to wait to fully demonstrate your abundance in order to begin to change the world. You don’t have to have money and be lavishly rich to start making a difference.

What if you could begin to eradicate poverty and war right now, today? Would you do it?

When you experience true prosperity, you have more than enough of everything and you have a fullness of Spirit. Your cup runneth over, so to speak!

But prosperity doesn’t start with the outer demonstration of riches. Take a look around you for a minute. Everything around you started first in someone’s mind as a thought or an inspiration.

The idea of being rich begins in your mind. Prosperity is truly a state of being.
What you think about comes into form. Your thoughts create your reality. How many times have you had an experience that you just KNEW was going to happen?

You knew it because you were focusing on it. Your mind is a magic wand. Everything in your life is there because you thought it into form.

Our thoughts create emotional energy. When you think a good thought, you feel happy. When you think a bad thought, you feel sad.

Emotions are simply energy. The Ancient Chinese taught us that we are “hard-wired” to be happy. Joy is our natural state.

Joy is a high frequency vibration. When we are joyful, we are also abundant because our thoughts are creating good things in our lives that make us feel good. Vibrations modulate and influence each other. If you have two pianos in a room and you pluck one string to make a note in one piano, the same string in the other piano will vibrate and make the same note. This is called sympathetic vibration.

We are like the pianos in the room. When one of us enters in a room vibrating in the joy frequency, we create the same vibration of joy in the people around us.
Prosperity consciousness is contagious.

Earth is evolving quickly. Many of you have probably noticed a change in the energy of the planet. We have existed on a planetary level in a state of lack, a low vibrational frequency for some time now. There is not enough food, resources and consequently wars break out because we collectively hold a vibration and the energy of “Not Enough”.

More of us believe that there is “not enough” than those of us who believe there is “more than enough”. Because we collectively believed there was not enough, there has not been enough on the planet and people are suffering. Our thoughts have created a difficult reality for the planet. We believe in lack and poverty and war and so that is what we create.

As the planet is changing, more and more people are waking up and experiencing the vibration of Joy. With the return to Joy, there is a new frequency of Prosperous energy on the planet. The Joy consciousness will create a world of overflowing abundance for all. The Earth is rapidly moving towards a global shift in consciousness. Each day, more and more people carry and spread the frequency of Joy and Prosperity on the planet.

In order to shift the entire planet to a new higher frequency, a rich frequency, we have to tip the balance of thought on the planet. In other words, the minute that more people on the Earth believe in Prosperity than in lack, is the minute that we create Heaven on Earth.

It is your responsibility to maintain a rich and joyful state of mind because YOU might be that one person who tips the balance of consciousness on the planet. You could be walking through the grocery store and the person who ran in for a quart of milk might be the one who catches the Joy frequency from you…and the whole world will shift into Prosperity instantly.

All you have to do is focus on what you want, believe you can have it and take action to get it. All you have to do is be your glorious magnificent self and stay joyful.
