What To Do When You're Feeling Blue

What To Do When You’re Feeling Blue

We have talked a lot this year about prosperity and abundant mindsets. Keeping yourself in a state of joyful delight and expectation is a key ingredient to manifesting the life you desire. The more you focus your energy and attention on the delight of receiving that which you desire, the faster your desire will manifest.

Not to mention that life is just more fun when you are experiencing joy and delight!

But, learning to stay in your joy takes practice and, let’s face it, there are days when you feel crummy and you don’t feel like keeping up. Some days it’s nice to have a cheat sheet to help you remember what to do if you’re stuck or feeling blue.

I actually first made this list for myself after having a really terrible week. For several days in a row I struggled to get out of bed, hated my work, ate a LOT chocolate, yelled at everyone and just generally didn’t attract anything other than chaos, conflict, disappointment and stress.

Not fun!

And the more NOT fun I experienced, the more not fun experiences I had!

All week long I kept wondering what I needed to do to get into a better place. To be honest, I actually KNEW what to do but I had so much resistance to taking action that I just got more and more stuck.

Finally, by Saturday, I knew that I had to take some kind of action to change my state of being. So, with great reluctance, I marched myself down to the local coffee shop and sat there for several hours, wasting time, while I stared at my journal.

After quaffing several lattes, surfing the internet for hours and meeting lots of new people, I sat down and decided to write a list of all the things I desired. I realized, as soon as I began writing, that I had spent the entire week without focusing on my desires and as I proceeded without clarity and focus, all I manifested was lack of clarity and focus.

You get what you focus on.

Simple, eh?

It took me ten minutes to write down a dream story about what I wanted. And as soon as I was done, I breathed a deep sigh of relief and immediately experienced a deep flood of joy and delight.

10 minutes preceded by 5 days of resistance.

Wow!

From that experience I created a flow sheet to help me remember what to do in case I ever get stuck again. I would like to share it with you so that you can help yourself maintain your own state of joy.

The Creative Flow

IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU WANT:

1. Write a dream statement about what you want.

2. Get excited every day about what you want.

3. Create visual reminders about what you want and place them where you can see them regularly.

4. Take any actions that are necessary to get what you want.

5. Wait in a state of joyful expectation and receive.

6. Celebrate.

7. Express gratitude.

IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU WANT:

1. Fill out the P.E.A.C.E. Tool (**See the Articles and Ideas Section of Joyful Mission) and clarify where you want to focus creating.

2. Find your lowest score on the P.E.A.C.E. tool and start by imagining what it would be like if you had a perfect score.

3. Look at your current life conditions that feel unpleasant or “bad” and use these conditions to help you clarify what you do want. (Remember the “bad” feelings are simply helping you identify a desire.)

4. As yourself the following question: “If I could have everything I desire, all limits aside, what would that be?” If that is still challenging, ask yourself, “If I could feel the way I wanted to feel about my life, how would I feel?”

Use you answers as creative springboards to write a dream statement.

5. Look through magazines or shops and find things that make you feel good. Imagine having them. If that feels good then incorporate them into a dream statement.

6. If you genuinely can’t find something that pleases you, pretend and “try on” a desire for a day or two and imagine what it would be like if that way your current experience.

7. Tune in to your Inner Wisdom and ask for guidance.

8. Express gratitude for what you do have in your life and hunt for miracles.

IF YOU DO KNOW WHAT YOU WANT BUT YOU HAVE BAD FEELINGS (I.E. ANXIETY, FEAR, FRUSTRATION, SADNESS) ABOUT YOUR VISION:

1. Write out your dream statement and take it apart piece by piece. Identify the elements that are challenging your belief system or are triggering bad feelings. Use EFT to address those limits.

2. Amplify your dream statement. Make it huge and unlimited. Push the limits of your envelope. Then go back and rewrite it the way you did originally. It won’t seem so impossible then.

3. Have a written logical argument with yourself about how it is completely and totally possible for your dream to come true. Cite evidence and data from your life and from other’s experiences.

4. Go on a miracle hunt to remind yourself that ANYTHING is possible for the Universe.

5. Express deep appreciation and gratitude for what you do have.

6. Examine your “story”. How is your belief system manifesting in your daily life? Is your car breaking down? Are you appliances failing? Are there other things in your life that are bugging you? Find the metaphor in your story and take a deliberate action to change the “story”.

7. Daydream about how wonderful it is going to feel to have your dream come true. Anchor it to a specific song. Play that song frequently to help you stay focused on what you do want instead of the frustration that you may be experiencing.

8. Stay in an abundant mindset. Do things that make you feel good. Watch you mental thoughts. Make not of any painful thought patterns and use EFT to get to the root. Write out a new positive thought pattern and carry it with you on a 3 x 5 card so that you can immediately refocus your mind.

9. Celebrate all the things you are doing “right” and the moments when you keep your focus on your desire!

10. Identify the Big Why behind your desire and stay tuned to that energy. Why do you want what you want? Use the feelings triggered by your Big Why to inspire you to stay excited about the creation.

11. Move your body. Do some deep breathing. Dance. Talk to a friend. Keep you energy moving. It is too easy to stay stuck.

12. Write yourself a long love letter and remind yourself that you are an Unlimited Child of the Universe and abundance is your birthright.

13. Delegate the things that seem impossible to the Divine Management System.

YOU KNOW THE ACTIONS YOU NEED TO TAKE BUT YOU AREN'T TAKING THEM:

1. Use EFT and identify the underlying resistance.

2. Clarify whether you TRULY desire what you are working towards. Sometimes we try to manifest things we think we “should” want instead of things we really want.

3. Identify your Big Why and get excited about your Life Purpose. Keep a visual reminder of your life purpose with you at all times. (I recommend carrying a small business card with your Life Purpose on it.)

4. Break the action down into smaller steps and celebrate each step.

5. Visualize or write how it is going to feel when you have manifested your dream.

6. Create a daily routine. Write it down and stick to it no matter what. Twenty-one days of action creates a new habit. Remember that “not doing” is just a habit.

7. Take good care of yourself and make sure that you are celebrating yourself and nurturing yourself. It is hard to create when you are tired or burned out.

8. Talk to a friend and set up an accountability system. Make agreements and help each other stick to them.

9. Make taking action pleasant. If you need to pay bills, make it fun. Brew a special tea. Put on nice music. Eat a bonbon each time you pay 3 bills….

10. Make a plan to celebrate when you are done with your action. Use this as incentive!

11. Delegate the things that seem impossible to the Divine Management System.

12. Consult your Inner Wisdom for advice.

PUTTING YOUR CREATIVE PROCESS ON STEROIDS:

1. Don’t worry. Be happy. Listen to happy music. Find the good in everything. Create a supportive environment. Do fun things. Go outside. Dance. Run. Walk. Giggle. Hang out with kids.

2. Appreciate everything. Stay in a constant state of delighted gratitude.

3. Use EFT to anchor your joy!

4. Connect with your Inner Wisdom every day.

Have fun!!!!
